The Docs Back

The Doctor has finally spoken, advising the rap community that West Coast Hip Hop isn’t dead. On August 1^st (2015) Dre took the mic to announce that after a long 16years, he was releasing his final installment titled “COMPTON: A Soundtrack By Dr. Dre”. Dre explains during “The Pharmacy” interview that the project was inspired by the movie Straight Outta Compton.

“I was leaving the set, going to the studio, and I felt myself just being so inspired by the movie that I started recording an album,”

He then followed

“All my friends came in and we all came together to build this thing and it’s going to be my grand finale and the record is bananas.”

This comes just after Dre declares the death of the much anticipated and long-awaited album, Detox which has supposedly being in the making since 2001.

Dre Says

“The record, it just wasn’t good… I worked my ass off on it and I don’t think I did a good enough job.”

Compton is set to be released on August 7^th and features heavyweight rappers including Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Xzibit and NWA member Ice Cube.

If there’s one thing we know, Dre is a perfectionist and he wouldn’t release anything to the public unless it was legendary, so the question is; are you ready for the next episode?
