Splendour in the Grass 2023

Splendour in the Grass is an annual music and arts festival that has been held in Australia since 2001. The festival is typically held over three days and features a diverse lineup of musical acts, as well as visual arts displays, installations, and other creative experiences.

The festival was founded by Jessica Ducrou and Paul Piticco, who were inspired by the success of other music festivals around the world such as Glastonbury and Coachella. They wanted to create a festival that would showcase the best in Australian and international music, as well as provide a platform for emerging artists to gain exposure and build their fan base.

The first Splendour in the Grass festival was held in Byron Bay, New South Wales in 2001, and featured a lineup that included Powderfinger, The Living End, and Sonic Youth. Over the years, the festival has grown in size and popularity, attracting thousands of music fans from across Australia and around the world.

The festival has also evolved to include a wide range of other artistic and cultural experiences, including performance art, film screenings, and interactive installations. The festival’s organizers have made a commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility, and have implemented a number of initiatives to reduce waste and promote sustainable practices.

The 21st annual Splendour in the Grass Festival is set to take place from Friday 21 July to Sunday 24 July 2023 at Ngarindjin / North Byron Parklands. The festival will feature an incredible lineup of musical acts, including Flume, Lizzo, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Slowthai, Benee, The Smith Street Band, Gold Fang, and many more.

Music fans can expect a diverse range of genres and styles, from electronic and dance music to indie rock and hip-hop. The festival will also feature a number of immersive art installations and creative experiences, providing a unique and unforgettable weekend of music and culture.
