For Your Ears: King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard – Rattlesnake

The Melbourne gang are back at it. A funky guitar riff taking influences from Nonagon and Mind Fuzz, rolling drums indulging that head bop and the urgent awareness to rattlesnakes in your gardens, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard are taking us on another journey.

If Eyes Like The Sky wasn’t a concept album, Rattlesnake would of made the cut. That feeling of red dirt blowing past you as you scavenge the baron deserts while dodging snakes is a perfect fit.

Their upcoming album Flying Microtonal Banana (named after the yellow guitar Stu Mackenzie is rocking in the video clip) is an exploration into the world of micro-tonal sound and instruments I am sure you have never heard of such as a Zurna (a turkish horn).

Flying Microtonal Banana will drop on Friday, 24th February, after the band wrap up their upcoming Gizzfest dates.
