California rock group, The Story So Far, treated Brisbane crowds to their long-anticipated Australian tour promoting their smash album, Proper Dose. With co-headliner, Basement, and supporting act, Endless Heights, The Story So Far put on one hell of a show at the first stop in their Australian tour, held at the historic Tivoli theatre.

The night kicked off with Sydney based band, Endless Heights, who put on an incredible performance that set a high standard for the next two acts. Each member of the punk-rock five-piece had an incredible stage presence and electric energy that fed the already packed crowd. The addictive bass line that echoed through each dark, yet passionate track left the audience with no choice but to rock out, and they happily obliged. The set was wrapped up by vocalist, Joel Martorana, venturing out into the audience for their last song. With such an impressive opening act, the crowd knew they had an incredible night in store.

British band, Basement, surprised everyone by starting off their highly anticipated set ten minutes early. Crowds flocked back to the mosh as they heard the beginnings of the band’s signature rock music. The quintet’s impressive command of their respective instruments showcased their classic rock sound. An impressive light show accompanied the set as Basement gave the audience a taste of their new album, Beside Myself, with a mix of some of their earlier classics. The crowd could not get enough, with a constant stream of crowd-surfers making their way to the front of the stage, trying to get as close as possible to the music.

The final act of the night, The Story So Far, started their show with an unbelievable level of energy that they maintained throughout their stirring set. The band of California natives first formed in 2007 and have perfected their edgy pop punk sound and magnetic stage presence over the years. After a solid half an hour of high energy head banging, the band busted out an acoustic guitar, playing stripped back versions of some of their biggest hits. The night wrapped up with the crowd dancing, bathed in a sea of blue light, as The Story So Far ended their set with an enthralling tribute to their fans who have grown up with the band and allowed them to come half-way across the globe to put on one-hell of a show.

By the end of the night, the crowd was well and truly rocked-out after an incredible show. With an unforgettable opening act and two exceptional headliners, the first stop on The Story So Far and Basement’s Australian tour is sure to be one of the most memorable rock concerts of the year.
