Mad City

Another weekend, another dose of loud, thumping bass and good vibes at GPO Hotel. With the local competition still running this weekend, and the fellas from Mad City on the bill, I knew I was in for another big one.

Turning up nice and early, I set my camera up and headed in for a look around and a drink. It remained relatively quiet for the first hour, with the crowd slowly easing in through the doors and into the building. Then, as always, they all hit at once. Before I had time to think, I was spinning in circles shooting groups of smiling patrons with their arms draped around each other. Positivity was oozing from the walls, GPO seems to be good at that.

After some warm up sets, Mad City finally took over the decks. The local duo are infamous for their unrelenting sets. From track number 1, the bass onslaught did not relent, and the crowd didn’t take long to form. With their brilliant stage presence, they had arms raised and swinging within 60 seconds. It’s always refreshing to see people really enjoying doing what they love, and these guys did exactly that. Local talent at its finest.
