David Byrne – Who Is The Sky Tour
Music icon David Byrne returns to the stage with his highly anticipated Who Is The Sky? Tour, following the release of his latest album. Renowned for pushing creative boundaries, Byrne’s upcoming tour will stretch across Australia and New Zealand, offering audiences a rare chance to experience one of modern music’s most influential figures in full flight.
David Byrne first rose to international fame as the frontman of Talking Heads, the genre-defying band that helped shape new wave and art-rock in the late 1970s and 1980s. With groundbreaking albums such as Talking Heads: 77, Remain in Light and Speaking in Tongues, the band left a lasting mark on music history. Their influence was formally recognised when Talking Heads were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2002, cementing Byrne’s status as a cultural pioneer.
Since then, Byrne’s solo career has been defined by constant reinvention from acclaimed collaborations and film scores to the globally celebrated American Utopia, which blurred the lines between concert, theatre and performance art. That same spirit carries into Who Is The Sky?, an album that continues his exploration of rhythm, movement and human connection, wrapped in rich, inventive arrangements.
The Who Is The Sky? Tour promises to be a visually and musically immersive experience. Byrne will be joined by a 13-piece touring ensemble of musicians, singers and dancers, including members of the American Utopia band.
