Future Islands – The Triffid
As expected Future Islands delivered in Brisbane. It is hard not to perform in a city you confess your love about onstage and you could feel the love through the precision and beauty of the synth pop sound that echoed through The Triffid. They so proudly represent the indie music scene of today, being slammed across the Triple J radio waves.
Lively as always, Samuel Herring lead Future Islands with his distracting and hard hitting grooves, beating his chest and what looked like to be Samuel trying to knock himself out by beating his skull repeatedly, making it hard to remember what I am even doing in front of the barrier with a camera in my hand. Did I expect anything different from his iconic Letterman performance? Definitely not.
