Ocean Alley kick started their Australian tour at a sold-out show at the Tivoli in Brisbane.   Their unique blend of psychedelic, rock/reggae fusion music has made a big impact on the music scene, particularly in the last year. Performing tracks off their album ‘Lost Tropics’ from 2016 and their second album ‘Chiaroscuro’ which they released recently- in March 2018. This album was voted No. 15 on the ARIA charts and No. 5 on the ARIA Australian Album Charts. Needless to say, many old and new fans were eagerly awaiting this tour to start. “The Comedown”- which was voted No. 48 in Triple J’s Hottest 100 of 2017 had every single person in the Tivoli on that Saturday night grooving out with the band who looked like they were enjoying every single second of their first show of the tour!

‘Drop Legs’ the Byron Bay party of five started off the show. Their blend of reggae/chill and hip hop brought the perfect vibes to get the crowd filling out the D-Floor, drink in hand. These guys had an entertaining set and their energy on stage was contagious! These guys are definitely worth seeing as they make their way around to coastal clubs and pubs and festivals around Australia and internationally this year.

Seven-piece soul/psychedelia/neo-dub band ‘Tunes of I’ were thrilled to be supporting Ocean Alley for their Australian tour. This sold-out show was the first Australian show for the New Zealand boys. Brisbane definitely had their boogie shoes on and the band was thrilled. Their skill of performing as a collective presence, being a seven piece was unforgettable. Their cover of Childish Gambino’s ‘Redbone’ was a highlight as the crowd were singing along to every single lyric.

Ocean Alley are touring throughout Australian cities, internationally, at Groovin The Moo, and recently announced, at Splendour In The Grass 2018 over the next three months. These boy’s hands down play an amazing live show and are definitely one to add to your list to see as they make their way around the world!
